International cooperation as a factor in European judicial education

On 25 March 2026, a working meeting took place between the Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, Mykola Onishchuk, and the Head of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) Office in Ukraine, Yuriy Voloshin.

During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation in the field of judicial education, in particular the introduction of modern European approaches to the training of judges, as well as participation in joint projects aimed at strengthening the rule of law and institutional capacity.

EPLO is an intergovernmental organisation bringing together European states and leading legal and academic institutions. Its activities encompass the development of democratic institutions, good governance and legal systems, particularly in the fields of constitutional and administrative law, human rights and public administration.

The launch of the EPLO Office in Ukraine is seen as an important step in expanding international cooperation and reaffirming confidence in Ukraine as a state that continues to implement systemic reforms and is moving towards European integration even in the midst of a full-scale war.

The parties expressed mutual interest in developing a partnership between the National School of Judges of Ukraine and EPLO, particularly regarding the training of judges, the exchange of professional experience and the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives.

The National School of Judges of Ukraine welcomes the launch of EPLO’s activities in Ukraine and stands ready for further fruitful cooperation, which will contribute to the implementation of European standards in the national justice system.
