New international partner in judicial education: NSJU establishes cooperation with Coginta

On 11 November 2025, a working meeting between Rector Mykola Onishchuk and representatives of the international non-governmental organisation Coginta (Switzerland) took place at the National School of Judges of Ukraine. The delegation included Programme Director and Team Leader Hervé Gonsolin and Senior Technical Advisor Ana Kantor.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss possible areas of cooperation between the NSJU and Coginta in the field of training judicial personnel, strengthening the institutional capacity of the judicial system, and supporting reforms in the field of the rule of law.

Coginta is a non-profit organisation based in Geneva that specialises in promoting inclusive governance, transforming the justice and security sectors, and increasing the resilience of communities in times of crisis and recovery. The organisation works in close partnership with national institutions in various countries to develop solutions that strengthen the effectiveness of state structures, restore public trust, and improve the quality of service delivery.

Coginta's field mission is currently assessing opportunities for its participation in the processes of recovery, reconstruction and stabilisation in Ukraine, particularly in the areas of the rule of law, human rights, security sector management, civil protection and support for veterans. Drawing on its experience of working in conflict situations, the organisation seeks to gain a deeper understanding of Ukraine's needs and find effective ways of international cooperation.

The meeting took place in a constructive dialogue and was an important step towards developing a partnership between the NSJU and Coginta, opening up new prospects for international cooperation in the field of judicial education and justice reform in Ukraine.

Viktoria Semenyuk, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department, also participated in the meeting on behalf of the National School of Judges of Ukraine.
