The NSJU is drawing on Poland’s experience on the path to European integration

On 5 May 2026, the Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, Mykola Onishchuk, together with a team of experts from the institution, held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland.

The Polish side was represented by Deputy State Secretary Dariusz Mazur, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Human Rights Wojciech Deptula, and Second Secretary of the Political Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv Michał Nasilowski.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of judicial education. In particular, they discussed the introduction of modern European approaches to the training of judges, as well as the use of the latest teaching methods.

The participants paid particular attention to studying Poland’s experience on the path to accession to the European Union. Representatives of Ukraine expressed interest in the practical experience of their Polish colleagues, which could be useful for adapting the Ukrainian judicial system to European standards.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening the rule of law and enhancing the institutional capacity of judicial training institutions in both countries.

The meeting marked another step in the development of the Ukrainian-Polish partnership and in supporting Ukraine’s European integration course.
